WHO has reported a sharp rise in the incidence of COVID-19 in the world

“Globally, nearly 1.5 million new cases of COVID-19 and more than 2,500 deaths have been reported over the past 28 days (July 10 to August 6, 2023), an 80 percent increase and 57 percent decrease, respectively, compared to the previous 28 days,” RIA Novosti quoted WHO as saying.

WHO declared a global coronavirus emergency on January 30, 2020, a pandemic was declared on March 11, which was lifted on May 5, 2023.

As of August 6, 2023, there have been more than 769 million confirmed cases and more than 6.9 million deaths worldwide.
